What the Official Site Said:

The bills—left by Joyce Summers—are stacking up. As Buffy and Dawn begin dealing with their bad financial situation and flooded basement, the Slayer attempts to apply for a bank loan.

***Spoiler***
(if u haven't seen it, & want to be surprised don't read any further)

Start off a wonderful day, Buffy's got a leak in the basement, so she heads down to fix it. Maybe she over tighten a little too much. Cause the pipes burst.

Buffy's off to get a loan from the bank in this episode, but since she no job (a paying one) and no money coming in she doesn't get it. Plus a M'Fashnik demon attacks the bank, robbing it, and fleeing with the cash, for his 'employers': Warren, Jonathan and Andrew.

Warren made April and the Buffy Bot. Jonathan's been around since season 1. In season 4, he created his own Universe, you know, Jonathan's Universe... Uh, 'Superstar' or something, even the title was weird. Andrew is the brother of the guy who made those demon-dog things from the prom attack. (Also in that episode was Jonathan handing out the 'Class Protector' Award to Buffy)

So of course the 3 baddies sent the M'Fashnik demon Buffy's way.
Giles returns from England in this episode, but Buffy doesn't even tell him about being in Heaven, not Hell. She's in debt, on the verge of bankruptcy and she needs another job, a paying job.

Anya suggests she charge, the public for saving them. (Why not? Cops get paid.) Willow has become, well in the simplest word: a bitch. She basically thinks she above everyone else, and she can do no wrong. (Do I hear a call to D'Hoffryn, coming?) Giles is very cross at her over bring Buffy back for the dead.

Buffy who like almost everyone else in the house, couldn't sleep. Was outside and over hear a bunch of stuff that basically made her feel crappy. Then Spike appears and tells her she knows watcher-boy doesn't mean anything by what he said. Spike then even manages to get a smile out of her.
Dialogue:

Spike: "Want me to take 'em out? Give me a hell of a headache, but I could probably thin the herd a little." [He smiles, cuz he's joking]
[Buffy smiles.]
Spike: Knew I could get a grin.

Then the M'Fashnik demon shows up, trashes some of the house, then Buffy gets him down into the basement and finishes him off. Plus thanks to Willow, (on end of that weeks Angel, she phoned him) Angel phoned Buffy, and she ran off to see him.
